ELDRED — Otto-Eldred cruised to a sweep of Galeton/Northern Potter in Thursday’s Northern Allegheny League doubleheader. The Terrors (9-1, 6-0) took game one, 14-1, and game two, 15-0.
In the opener, O-E racked up its 14 runs on 12 hits.
Otto-Eldred jumped out to a quick 6-0 lead before tacking on two runs in both the second and third innings. Then, in the fourth, the team put up a four-run frame.
“Our hitting was phenomenal in that first game,” Terror coach Jame Thomas said. “Our team is seeing the ball well.”
The offense was led by Cole Sebastian’s 3-for-3 performance with three RBI.
“The last few games, Cole’s been getting good swings on the ball. He’s seeing the ball well and turning on everything,” Thomas said.
Chase Sebastian added a two-RBI double for the Terrors, as did Jacob Bell.
In addition, Andrew Sheeler, Jacob Merry, Mathius Spinney and Tommy VanScooter tacked on one RBI each.
On the mound, Chase Sebastian picked up the win. He tossed three innings, struck out four and walked none and gave up the sole Galeton/NoPo run. Andrew Sheeler came on in relief in the fourth and pitched 1.1 innings with three strikeouts, and Bell closed the game out against two batters and struck one out.
Noah Shutt had Galeton/NoPo’s (0-8, 0-5) only RBI.
In game two, the Terrors jumped out to a 4-0 lead after two innings, and then added four more in the fourth inning and seven runs in the fifth for a 15-0 shutout win.
Chase Sebastian led O-E with four RBI on a 2-3 game at the plate. Merry went 2-3 with a triple and triple and two RBI, and Cameron Magee notched two RBI.
“Chase took advantage of the outside part of the plate, and at times he’s struggled with that,” Thomas said. “Today he was stroking the outside and sending it out to the left side.”
The Terrors’ defense gave up no errors during the twin bill. Meanwhile, Galeton committed eight in both games.
“Our pitching has been great all season, and today there weren’t a lot of walks,” Thomas said. “Our defense was just impressive, too. It’s a fun team to be a part of.”

SMETHPORT — Coudersport’s Kullen Crosby homered and Eli Ayers belted a pair of doubles, but it took a five-run sixth inning before the Falcons could take advantage of the 10-run rule to defeat Smethport in Northern Allegheny League baseball action Thursday.
Crosby cleared the fence in the top of the sixth with a man on and finished the game with five RBI. Ayers, meanwhile, drove in three runs in the contest.
Coudy put nine runs on the board in the first three innings and added a score in the top of the fifth to make it 10-0, but the Hubbers plated a run in the bottom of the frame to stay alive and set the stage for the Falcons’ big 6th frame finish.
Coudy is 9-2 overall, 6-1 league, while Smethport dropped to 3-4 and 2-3.

Allegany-Limestone 6, Port Allegany 2
ALLEGANY, N.Y. — Travis Maguire kept Port Allegany at bay throughout and the A-L bats came alive late as the Gators claimed an interstate Big 30 matchup.
Maguire racked up 14 strikeouts and scattered six hits and three walks over 6 ⅔ innings. He allowed one run in each of the second and fourth innings. The Gators went hitless over the first three innings, but plated five runs across the fifth and sixth innings to take control.
The Gators (3-5) struck first after Carter Moses stole home in the second and then Montgomery Tanner ripped an RBI single in the fourth.
“Give all the credit in the world to Travis,” Port Allegany coach Nate Zitnik said. “It was too much to overcome. We had multiple opportunities earlier in the game to score runs and put the game out of reach.”
Josh Rees (4 strikeouts, 5 walks) allowed just one run into the fifth inning for Port Allegany, before the Gators were forced to turn to the bullpen.
“Josh did a nice job pitching and was good with his control,” Zitnik said. “But as I’ve mentioned, this is a young group and guys are still trying to figure things out and tonight that came back to bite us.”
