    NTL track: Cameron Co., Coudy sweep meets

    SMETHPORT — Jenna Gregory qualified for Districts in the 1600 and 3200 runs, Dale Burdick in the high jump and the Smethport boys 3200 relay team as a group as the Hubbers track teams took three of four wins against Northern Potter and Otto-Eldred Tuesday.

    On the boys side, Smethport cruised to 113-37 wins over the Terrors and a 136-12 decision over Northern Potter, winning all but three events.

    In addition to Burdick’s district-qualifying time in the 3200, he also posted wins in the 100, discus, and 4×100 relay. Christian Tanner quadrupled with wins in the 800, 1600, pole vault and 1600 relay while Ryli Burritt tripled in the long jump, triple jump and 4X100 relay.

    The members of that 3200 relay team that qualified for districts with a time of 9:04 are Chase Burdick, Eric Szarowicz Jordan Pavlock and Darion Gregory.  

    Doubling for Smethport (3-0) were Gregory, Szarowicz, Logan Christie and Justin Gallup.

    On the girls side, Veronica Benini led the field with an impressive quadruple in the 100 hurdles, 200, pole vault and the 400 relay for Otto-Eldred as they downed the Lady Hubbers 93-52.

    Smethport then topped Northern Potter 72-59.

    Double winners included Megan Hyde (NoPo, 100, triple jump); Amanda Ford (NoPo, 1600, 3200); Reilly Raught (O-E, long jump, triple jump) and Marissa Jack (Smethport, shot put, discus).

    The Smethport girls host Eisenhower and DuBois Catholic on Thursday.

    Oswayo Valley, Port Allegany at Cameron County

    EMPORIUM — Reggie Goodrow’s throw of 31-11.75 feet in the shot put and John Heim’s quadruple highlighted a strong day on the track and field for Cameron County, as the Red Raiders edged Oswayo and Port Allegany in both girls and boys action.

    Goodrow’s work in the shot put was good enough to qualify her for Districts.

    Also on the girls side for Cameron Co. (4-0), Kamme Guisto doubled in the triple and high jumps, while Hailey Hilfiger scored victories in the 800 and the discus as the Lady Red Raiders downed OV 86-48 and Port Allegany 110-30.

    For Oswayo, Sarah McKean doubled in the 200 and 400 relays, and Faith Coole took home wins in the 100 and 400 relay to help the Lady Green Waves edge Port A 65-63.

    Gracie Archer scored distance wins in the 1600 and 3200 to double for Port Allegany.

    Meanwhile, Heim notched victories in the 100, 400 relay, 1600 relay and 110 hurdles for the Red Raiders. Caden Beldin also quadrupled for Cameron Co. with wins in the 400, 400 relay, 1600 relay and the high jump as they swept OV 82.5-42.5 and Port A 74-65.

    Michael VanDergrift flexed his muscle in the throws, with first-place finishes in the discus, javelin and shot put for Oswayo Valley.

    Eli Petruzzi (1600, 3200) and Howie Stuckey (300 hurdles, long jump) led Port Allegany to a 85-41 win over Oswayo.

    Sheffield at Coudersport

    COUDERSPORT — The Falcons cruised to their first dual meet victory of the season by claiming 33 first-place finishes out of 35 total events to down Sheffield 123-24 on the boys side and 114-23 on the girls.

    Steve Kelly (100, 200, 400 relay) and Daniel Frame (800, 1600, 3200 relay) tripled to lead the Falcon boys, while Tianna Bowser quadrupled in the 800, 1600 relay, 100 hurles and the pole vault to power the Coudersport girls.

    E. Leichtenberger took home the lone victories for Sheffield in the shot put and javelin events.

    Tripling for the Coudy girls was Dana Dubots (100, 400, 400 relay), and doubling were Rosalyn Page (300 hurdles, discus), Sarah Chambers (triple, high jump) and Mikayla Kavounas (200, 400 relay).

    In addition to Kelly and Frame on the boys side, Hayden Keck (400, 1600 relay), Keith Cole (hurdles) and Cale Ayers (shot put, discus) doubled.
