ST MARYS –– Two Elk County teens were arraigned Wednesday night on charges alleging they posted threats online targeting St. Marys Area High School.
On Wednesday, SMAHS School Police Officer John Lovett told The Era that a group of students approached him Wednesday morning with videos posted on Snapchat by two 18-year-olds by the names of Joseph Seawright, of Johnsonburg; and Caitlin Ambuski, of Kersey, showing threats made targeting the school and showing Seawright discharging a firearm. Lovett said he notified St. Marys Police of the issue, who got Ridgway-based state police involved in the issue. Both Seawright and Ambuski were taken into custody on Wednesday and were charged with terroristic threats with intent to terrorize another, a first-degree misdemeanor; and conspiracy to commit terroristic threats with intent to terrorize another, a first-degree misdemeanor.
Seawright and Ambuski were arraigned by Johnsonburg District Judge James Martin on Wednesday evening and were remanded to Elk County Prison after both defendants were unable to post bail. Bail for Seawright was set at $15,000 while bail for Ambuski was set at $10,000.
Preliminary hearings for Seawright and Ambuski are scheduled for April 2.
