A team of students from Floyd C. Fretz Middle School is competing in the What’s So Cool About Manufacturing Video Contest, and the Viewers Choice Award, and locals can help by going online between now and Wednesday to vote for their entry.
Students from schools across the region are participating.
For the Fretz team, four students shot video footage at Zippo back in November. Since that time, they have been editing and revising, and they submitted a final copy in February. The videos are currently being judged.

Sixteen middle schools and manufacturing companies from throughout the counties of Cameron, Clearfield, Elk, Jefferson, McKean and Potter are participating in the third annual “What’s So Cool About Manufacturing?” video contest for the region.
Each team of sixth through eighth grade students along with a teacher/coach were provided video equipment and training and were matched with manufacturing companies located in the region. The teams are creating short video profiles of their companies and the career opportunities they offer.
The event is led by a collaboration of community partners and Workforce Solutions (Workforce Development Board serving the North Central PA region).
