A Bolivar Drive residence was damaged by fire Friday morning when a riding lawn mower in a basement garage caught fire.

Ridgway-based state police fire marshal Cpl. Greg Agosti said the home at 549 Bolivar Drive, owned by Bradley and Jody Locke, has about $50,000 in damage from the blaze, which broke out around 6:30 a.m.

Agosti and the Derrick City fire department investigated the cause of the fire, finding that it originated with an electrical issue in a riding lawn mower in the basement garage.

There were no injuries.

Departments from Bradford Township, Bradford City, Lewis Run, Rew, Otto Township and Limestone, N.Y., were either dispatched to assist or to standby. Crews were on the scene for about an hour-and-a-half.
