PORT ALLEGANY — A.J. Edgell’s double-double led a balanced scoring attack carried Port Allegany to an 88-34 victory over Oswayo Valley in North Tier League basketball action Monday.
Edgell scored 22 points and pulled down 10 rebounds, while Howie Stuckey scored a game-high 26 points and Jordan Card was good for 17 tallies.
“We had good balanced scoring tonight,” said Port A. coach Jeff Stuckey.
Nine Gators put points on the board in the game.
“A.J. had an exceptional game with the 10 rebounds and and Howie (Stuckey) and Jordan (Card) did their normal jobs and played well,” he added. “Drake Amell also hit a couple big threes right before the half.”
The Gators, 2-4 overall, led 29-7 at the end of the first quarter and the game was really never in doubt.
Michael Welch scored 12 points for OV and drew praise from the Gators’ coach. “Welch is young but he had a pretty good game for them,” said Stuckey
Port Allegany (1-2 NTL) returns to action on Friday at Northern Potter.

Cameron County 68, Northern Potter 30
ULYSSES — Jake Walters recorded a double-double to lead Cameron County to its third straight North Tier League basketball victory with a 68-30 decision over Northern Potter on Monday.
Walters scored a game-high 16 points and pulled down 11 rebounds. Backing him was Caden Beldin with 11 points.
The Red Raiders are now 3-0 in the NTL.
“It was a good team win,” said Cameron assistant coach Bryan Good. “Jake had the 11 rebounds and Marcus Brown had seven assists and did a nice job passing the ball around.”
Cameron jumped out to a 19-8 first quarter lead, pushed that to 39-10 at halftime and was well on the way to its 4th overall win of the season.
Langworthy’s six points led the Lady Panthers.
Both teams return to action Wednesday: Cameron County (4-1) hosts Galeton, while NoPo (1-3, 0-3 NTL) travels to Oswayo Valley.

DUKE CENTER — Four Terrors were in double-figures as Otto-Eldred put up a season-high 72 points to notch a decisive non-league win over Sheffield.
Cameron Grigsby led the scoring barrage for Otto with 18 points, while teammates Andrew Sheeler (16), Gavin Jimerson (10) and Cole Sebastian (11) were also in double digits.
Sheeler also finished with seven assists for the Terrors.
Otto-Eldred (2-3, 1-2) scored 21 points in the second to pull away after a 17-13 first quarter, and then turned the game into a rout with 23 in the fourth.
Jakob Vinopal led Sheffield with 18.
The Terrors travel to Smethport on Wednesday looking for their first NTL victory of the season.

GALETON — Coudersport’s Travis Gleason recorded a double-double and Owen Chambers scored a game-high 26 points to lead the unbeaten Falcons to a 75-41 victory over Galeton in North Tier League basketball action on Monday.
Gleason scored 13 points and pulled down 12 rebounds for his double-double, while Chambers continued his hot scoring pace. Also in double figures for the Falcons was Hayden Keck with 16 points.
Coudy led by six at the end of the first quarter and then turned up the heat to stretch its advantage to 17, 36-19, at the break.
“We had a good second quarter defensively,” said Coudy coach Brian Furman. “We also had 25 assists tonight, so we moved the ball well.”
Evan Brooks scored 18 points to lead Galeton.
Coudy (3-0 NTL) hosts Austin on Wednesday.

Smethport 50, Austin 38
AUSTIN — Despite scoring just two-points in the third quarter, the Smethport Hubbers were able to hang on in a critical matchup to remain undefeated in North Tier League play with a 5038 win over the Panthers.
Caleb Lutz paced Smethport with 17, while Eric Szarowicz contributed with 16 for the Hubbers that scored 31 in the first half.
“Maybe I have to work on my halftime speech,” Smethport coach Jay Acker joked. “We played a great first, got out to a big lead and then went cold. But we got some big free throws at the end.”
The Hubbers went 12-15 from the charity stripe in the game, including six makes from Lutz.
Austin, meanwhile, suffered its first league loss of the season. Dempsey Glover led the Panthers with 13 points.
