A Kane man was arraigned Monday on allegations he assaulted and threatened a woman on multiple dates in October.
Devon A. Pulido, 27, of 306 Glenwood St., was arraigned before District Judge David Engman and charged with strangulation, a second-degree felony; terroristic threats, a first-degree misdemeanor; simple assault, a second-degree misdemeanor; and summary charges of criminal trespassing and harassment.
According to the criminal complaint, the alleged victim told Kane Borough Police that on Halloween night, she and Pulido argued, and he put her in a headlock.
“She had to bite and scratch him to escape,” the complaint stated.
When he let go, he allegedly pushed her, struck her and pushed items off a dresser; one object hit her in the back of the head, causing a contusion, according to court records.
“He then tipped the dresser over and began beating the back of the dresser with a metal baseball bat,” the complaint stated.
While he threatened the woman with the bat, he did not strike her with it, she told police.
She told him several times to leave, but he refused, court records stated. She eventually was able to get downstairs to call his mother, who came to pick him up.
The woman told police that the abuse from Pulido started Oct. 26. That day, he allegedly pushed her, causing her head to hit the wall, according to the complaint.
Then, on Oct. 27, Pulido threw a bottle, breaking her son’s television set; when she told him to stop, he grabbed her by the throat, the complaint stated.
When the woman received treatment at Bradford Regional Medical Center, medical staff found bruises, abrasions and contusions all over her body, and there was bruising and blood pooling around her neck, according to the complaint.
Pulido is free on $10,000 unsecured bail. He is scheduled to appear in Central Court on Dec. 13.
