A number of 4-H members from across McKean County made their way to the Centre County Grange Fairgrounds in Centre Hall to compete for a chance to make it on to the 2018 PA State 4-H Horse Show, to be held this month in Harrisburg.
Of those who attended the District VIII 4-H Horse & Pony Show, McKean County had a great showing with 13 4-H members qualifying for the 2017 PA State 4-H Horse & Pony Show.
The following members qualified for states and will be competing in the following divisions:
• Bethany Bednez— English Grooming & Showmanship, Ages 15-18; Miniature Horse In-Hand Trail, Ages 14-18; Miniature Horse Jumping
• Hannah Bosworth — Western Pleasure Horses, Ages 14-18
• Allison Deiter — Pole Bending Ponies, Ages 8-13; Barrel Race Ponies, Ages 8-13; Raised Box Keyhole Ponies, Ages 8-13; Cutback Ponies, Ages 8-13
• Hailley Edgreen — Barrel Race Ponies, Ages 8-13
• Grace Finn —English Grooming & Showmanship, Ages 8-11; Hunt Seat Equitation on the Flat, Ages 8-11; Hunter Under Saddle Ponies
• Jasmine Freer — Western Horsemanship, Ages 12-14
• Emily Holly — Miniature Horse Jumping; Western Grooming & Showmanship, Ages 15-18; Ranch Horse Pleasure
• Jaxin Jones — Obstacle Trail, Minimum Assistance; Walk Trot Equitation, Minimum Assistance
• Reese Kinney — Pole Bending Horses, Ages 8-13; Barrel Race Horses, Ages 8-13; Cutback Horses, Ages 8-13
• Jocelyn Lilly — Barrel Race Horses, Ages 14-18
• Jordyn Rice — Cutback Horses, Ages 14-18
• Autumn Smith—Barrel Race Ponies, Ages 14-18
• Jake Vicic—Beginner Western Horsemanship.
