The Bradford Lady Owls volleyball team will hold its annual “Dig Pink Night” on Thursday, Oct. 11 during their match against Ridgway.
The varsity team fundraiser, which begins after the 6 p.m. junior varsity game is completed, is part of a national event staged by thousands of other high school and college teams across the country. All proceeds from this event will benefit the Bradford Regional Medical Center Oncology Department.
Last year’s event raised $2000, bringing a 10-year total of approximately $15,000.
New to this year, members of the “Pink Pumpkin Project” will be attending our event and selling their decorative pumpkins. This project serves individuals within a 45 mile radius of Olean, N.Y. We encourage everyone to wear pink.
Dig Pink t-shirts will be sold during the game. Prior to and during the volleyball matches, tickets will be sold for the Chinese auction items, donated by local businesses and player family members. Between matches, team members from both teams will also present pink carnations to family and friends to in honor of and in memory of loved ones who have battled cancer.
