Bradford took over the world on Friday.
In honor of Bradford Area High School’s annual homecoming, floats designed in themes of Paris, London, Rome, New Orleans, Orlando and Cairo traveled through the city to the sounds of the Bradford Marching Owls on Friday evening.
When the parade was over and the roads were clean of candy, 9-year-old Kaylee May –– to no surprise –– exclaimed that her favorite part of the event is, “the candy!”
Shortly after the parade, the Bradford Owls faced off against the Brockway Rovers at Parkway Field. The Owls would give a packed Parkway Field a show, as the team would improve their record to 3-3 with a 34-13 win over the Rovers.
During halftime, the crowning of homecoming royalty took place. When Brianna Goodell and Cadyn Sutherland heard the words every candidate wanted to hear, they were all hugs and smiles.
“The feeling is amazing –– we waited so long to hear those words,” said Sutherland, still in awe.
“We had a lot of fun and the whole experience was so awesome,” Goodell said.
“I think I was squeezing his arm off,” Goodell laughed, describing the silence before hearing their names called.
