A Mount Jewett man is in McKean County Jail on ethnic intimidation charges stemming from an alleged incident Aug. 24 in Eldred Borough.
Anthony A. Ray, 37, of 13 Phillips St., Mount Jewett, was arraigned Tuesday before District Judge William Todd and committed to jail in lieu of $10,000 bail.
The criminal complaint states that on Aug. 24 on Cris Drive in Eldred, Ray went to Cris Drive to pick up his children, who were not there. Ray “was laying on his horn” and yelling at a male, saying he was going to kill the male and his son.
Ray allegedly made multiple offensive, threatening statements about the family that included racial slurs and curse words. His yelling alarmed several neighbors, who provided statements to Otto-Eldred Regional Police about what happened, the criminal complaint stated.
Ray is charged with two counts each of ethnic intimidation, both third-degree felonies; terroristic threats, both first-degree misdemeanors; two counts of harassment and one count of disorderly conduct, all third-degree misdemeanors; and a summary charge of failing to notify authorities of the change of address for his driver’s license.
He is scheduled to appear in Central Court on Sept. 13.
