A Bradford man was arraigned Saturday for allegedly threatening to go after another man with a gun.
Alex M. Ita, 31, is charged with terroristic threats, a first-degree misdemeanor.
According to court records, at 10:45 p.m. Friday, officers were dispatched to a vehicle fire at Rose Terrace Apartments on Lincoln Avenue. While police were on the scene, Ita arrived and began speaking with an officer, as the owner of the vehicle is the mother of Ita’s child. Another officer approached to ask Ita about a separate incident. While talking to the police, Ita said he knew the vehicle fire was intentionally set, and he knew who had set it.
He said he was going to “find this person and fight them,” court records stated.
He gave police a name, then said he would get a gun and “have it in his face and would shoot him for what he did,” court records allege.
Police told Ita several times to stay away from the other man and Ita left the scene. About 10 minutes later, police were called to the other man’s residence for “an incident” between Ita and the other man “involving a gun and a machete,” court records stated.
Officers located Ita driving back and forth in front of the other man’s house and stopped his truck. When being questioned, Ita kept saying he was going to fight the other man, the records stated.
Ita was arrested and arraigned early Saturday morning before District Judge Dom Cercone. He was released on $5,000 unsecured bail.
He is scheduled to appear in Central Court on Thursday.
