National Comedy Center to celebrate grand opening week with all-star events

JAMESTOWN, N.Y. — The National Comedy Center has added even more dialogues and performances to its opening week lineup that starts this Wednesday and runs through Sunday.

The comedy-filled roster that already included Amy Schumer, Lily Tomlin, Dan Aykroyd, Laraine Newman, Lucie Arnaz, Fran Drescher, Alan Zweibel and more has grown to include Lewis Black, W. In addition to new events, the National Comedy Center is offering timed-entry admission to the new attraction so that no visit during grand opening week is too crowded. First admissions to the National Comedy Center will begin daily at 9 a.m., and last admissions will take place at 5 p.m.

“It’s a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity to be witness to the opening of a national-scale attraction. Be part of history this week, grab an admission reservation and take part in an incredibly special moment for Jamestown,” said Journey Gunderson, National Comedy Center executive director.

Highlights include, on Wednesday at 7:30 p.m., a stand-up showcase featuring Lewis Black, W. Kamau Bell, Tom Cotter, Judy Gold, Hari Kondabolu, Kerri Louise and more. (Reg Lenna)

On Saturday will be Story Pirates: Kids Comedy (Willow Bay Theater) at 11 a.m.

At noon will be “Sock It To Me” featuring Laugh-In producer & director, George Schlatter, moderated by Stephen J. Morrison, (CNN’s History of Comedy) (Tropicana Room).
