Bradford Area High School 2018 graduate Matthew Picklo has been selected as the recipient of the Carole Marie Moore Scholarship.
This scholarship was established in 1980 in memory of Carole by her parents. It is awarded annually to a student who best exemplifies courage to set high standards of achievement and displays good character, love of learning and respect for others. Selection is made by the teaching staff.
Picklo has been a member of the high school jazz ensemble, concert band and the marching band. He has worked in Stage Craft and appeared in the musicals “Mame” and “Bye Bye Birdie.”
As a member of Key Club, he was awarded the Steve Martin Outstanding Student Award and was a member of the National Honor Society. Picklo also received the Keystone Recognition Award and the President’s Award for Educational Excellence.
Picklo is the son of Bernard Picklo and Janelle Nolan. He will attend the University of Pittsburgh and major in music.
