A Bradford man was arrested over the weekend for allegedly threatening to start a house on fire while someone was inside.
Christopher L. Ausherman, 50, of 91 Kennedy St., was arraigned Sunday night before District Judge David Engman on charges of terroristic threats, a first-degree misdemeanor; simple assault, a second-degree misdemeanor; and harassment, a summary charge.
According to the criminal complaint, at 8:45 p.m. Sunday, Bradford City Police were dispatched to Ausherman’s home, which he was allegedly trying to burn down.
Police found Ausherman, who was intoxicated, with a lighter in his hand, court records stated. The alleged victim told police that Ausherman threw an end table at here while they were arguing, then told her he would burn down the house with her and her dog in it, the criminal complaint indicated.
Ausherman was incarcerated in McKean County Jail in lieu of $25,000 bail, and he is scheduled to appear in Central Court on Thursday.
