A Bradford man was convicted of burglary at trial in McKean County Court on Wednesday for taking thousands of dollars in items from a shed on Summer Street.
Shayne Reed, 23, was found guilty by a jury of burglary, criminal trespass, conspiracy at criminal mischief, theft and receiving stolen property. There was no information immediately available as to when he will be sentenced.
The case was prosecuted by Assistant District Attorney Jerry Grill.
Reed was charged along with Amber Harris. Court records said the couple broke a lock off a shed on Summer Street where the homeowner stored items for family members, then drilled new holes in the door in order to attach a new lock; they caused $100 in damage to the shed.
The pair is accused of taking 34 items worth a total of $2,672, including a Tony Stewart sign, three tree stands, speakers, four mountain pie makers, a ball peen hammer, three fishing poles, a propane slow cooker, a crock pot roaster, crutches, two Buffalo Bills Zippo lighters, a glass plate with a deer emblem, a carpet knee kicker, a lawn chair, Avon products, a five-room tent, three pairs of boots, a table saw, a scroll saw, a band saw and three weedeaters, according to court records.
The homeowner learned the pair was selling the items and found photographs of some items Harris had posted on Facebook in her efforts to get someone to buy them; also, at least two people have stepped forward to say they purchased items from her, court records stated.
The last notation in Harris’s court docket indicates her case is listed for trial.
Also recently in court, Jason Gaberseck, 42, Eldred, was convicted of DUI following a bench trial. The case was prosecuted by Assistant District Attorney Ashley Shade prosecuted the case.
