KANE — The Allegheny Hardwood Utilization Group Annual Dinner meeting will be held at the Red Fern in St. Marys on May 31.
Guest speakers for the event will be Republican legislators Congressman Glenn “GT” Thompson serving the 15th District of Pennsylvania, Sen. Scott Hutchinson of the 21st Senatorial District in the State Senate and Rep. Martin Causer of the 67th District serving Cameron and McKean counties, as well as most of Potter County.
Thompson, as a descendent of a long line of dairy farmers, is a member of the House Agriculture Committee, where he currently serves as vice chairman. He is also chairman of the Subcommittee on Nutrition. Thompson also serves on the House Natural Resources Committee and the House Education & the Workforce Committee. He continues to serve as Co-Chairman for the bipartisan Congressional Natural Gas Caucus. Additionally, Thompson co-chairs the German-American Caucus at a pivotal time of discussion on shared interests of security and trade between the two nations.
Hutchinson serves as chairman of the finance committee. He serves as a member of four other committees: Environmental Resources & Energy; Health & Human Services; Local Government; and Veterans Affairs & Emergency Preparedness. He also serves as the Chairman of the Joint Legislative Air and water Pollution Control an Conservation Committees and as member of the Local Government commission. The Senator was also appointed as a member of the Pennsylvania Grade Crude Development Advisory Council and the Pennsylvania Hardwoods Development Council.
Causer has been named to his second term as chairman of the House Agriculture and Rural Affairs Committee. He also serves on the House Environmental Resources and Energy Committee. He chairs the Legislative Timber Caucus and serves as vice chairman of the Firefighter and Emergency Services Caucus.
