The National Weather Service in State College has issued a red flag warning for McKean, Elk and Cameron counties, in effect until 9 p.m. today.
“The potential exists for rapid development and spread of wild fires…or for prescribed burns to get out of control. Outdoor burning is not recommended,” the weather service reported.
People should also should not dispose of cigarette butts on the ground or outside of a car, according to the weather service.
