Carpenter pleads guilty in robbery

SMETHPORT — A Bradford man accused of walking into a residence to steal drugs in March pleaded guilty Thursday in McKean County Court.

Patrick M. Carpenter, 34, entered his plea before President Judge John Pavlock.

According to District Attorney Stephanie Vettenburg-Shaffer, Carpenter pleaded guilty to robbery and criminal trespass for entering a residence without privilege to do so and taking Suboxone.

He will be sentenced May 17.

Court records filed at the time of Carpenter’s arrest indicated that he stormed into a home occupied by three adults and a 2-year-old boy and threatened to assault one of the adults if he didn’t receive Suboxone.

Carpenter remains incarcerated in McKean County Jail in lieu of $50,000 bail.
