The Allegheny National Forest Visitors Bureau will host the popular “Backyard Tour,” a deluxe motor coach tour of must see attractions within McKean County, on May 4.
Participants are invited to join in the fun of being a “backyard tourist” at sites located throughout the county. On this day, guests will have the opportunity to network with other tourism partners, visit local attractions, and hear about county services available to assist local business.
The Backyard Tour is a perfect way to help new staff learn about the area. Existing staff and business owners will benefit from networking with other tourism partners.
“This very popular motor coach tour of local attractions has been attended by business owners, new staff at local businesses, and folks from far and near interested in visiting some of the premier tourism sites within the county,” explained Linda Devlin, executive director of the Allegheny National Forest Visitors Bureau, “we originally planned the tour as a customer service- networking project, but it has become much more, it is now a fun filled day for local residents along with business people.”
The tour schedule includes: Zippo/Case Museum, Marilyn Horne Museum & Exhibit Center, Old Schoolhouse Village Shoppes, Eldred World War II Museum, McKean County Old Jail Museum, Kinzua Bridge State Park, the Kinzua Sky Walk, Bwana Jim’s Wildlife Show, lunch catered by Little Sisters Big Rig, Flickerwood Wine Cellars, CJ Spirits Craft Distillery, and travel along the Longhouse National Scenic Byway. Prizes and games are played along the travel route; including the trivia game developed by the bureau — the Pennsylvania Puzzler.
The tour begins at 8:45 a.m. at the ANF Visitors Bureau Welcome Center at 80 E. Corydon Street in Bradford. The full day sight-seeing tour is open to the public, with advance registration for a fee of $35.00, which includes the bus tour and lunch.
