BELMONT, N.Y. — Law enforcement officials believe suspects in a March 21 theft of 18 firearms from an Allegany County store were spotted in Genesee, Potter County, Pa.
According to the Amity-based state police Bureau of Criminal Investigation, between 2 and 5 a.m. March 21, someone broke into Shongo General Store at 2953 Hawks Road, in the town of Willing, and took 13 long guns and five handguns.
Police reported that after further investigation, they found photographs of the suspects obtained at a Genesee gas station/store. Police believe the pair are traveling in a white sedan that is possibly a Chevrolet.
A search on Google Maps indicates that Genesee is about eight miles south of the town of Willing.
Police did not indicate that they knew the identities of the suspects, or even how many people they believe may be involved.
A reward of up to $5,000 is being offered to anyone with information leading to the arrest and conviction of the person or people responsible for the theft of guns from a federally licensed firearms dealer. The combined reward is being offered by the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives (ATF) and the National Shooting Sports Foundation (NSSF).

The state police based in Coudersport, Pa., New York state police, the ATF and the NSSF are working together on the ongoing investigation.
