AUSTIN — In a back-and-forth game where both sides filled up the stat sheet, it was Austin that was able to come out on top 68-67 over Galeton in a double overtime thriller in the North Tier League on Thursday.
All five of Austin’s starters finished in double figures, with Jackson Glover leading the way with 17 points. Garrett Rees (16 points), Dempsey Glover (13 points, nine rebounds), Blake Burgett (11 points, seven assists), and Mason Valenti (11 points) also made big contributions for the Panthers, who picked up a much-needed league win.
Evan Brooks’ game-high 28 points wasn’t enough to lift Galeton, which falls to 3-7 on the year.
Isaiah Shuemaker (19 points) and Joel Griffen (11 points) also finished in double-figures.
Austin (8-4 overall, 3-4 NTL) hosts Otto-Eldred on Wednesday. Galeton (3-7 overall, 2-4 NTL) will travel to Otto-Eldred on Monday.
