James Michael Salerno and Nora Kristine Shields were united in marriage in a double-ring ceremony Oct. 14 at St. Bernard of Clairvaux Church in Bradford with the Rev. Leo Gallina officiating.
The groom is the son of Michael and Stacie Salerno of Bradford, and the bride is the daughter of Kent and Sharyl Shields of Ashville, N.Y.
The bride, who was given in marriage by her parents, wore a sheath wedding gown from Martina Liana made from sparkling beaded lace over imperial crepe and boasting a sweetheart neckline with flirty shoulder straps that gather at the shoulder blades. The low-cut back zips up under crystal buttons and held a cathedral length train with sparkling beaded lace.
The bride’s headpiece was a fingertip veil with an intricate lace floral design with sparkling beaded lace throughout. She carried a hand-tied bouquet of red roses and black calla lilies.
Sarah Chambers of Delaware, Ohio, served as matron of honor. Bridesmaids were Chloe Shields of Erie, Alyssa Freudeman of Delaware, Ohio, Stephanie Sczudlo of Arden, N.C., Heather Watson of Bradford, Katie Linamen of Panama, N.Y., Jennifer McGuirt of Fort Mill, S.C., and Amanda Stewart of Bradford.
Mara Stewart of Bradford was the flower girl, and Griffin Stewart of Bradford was the ring bearer.
Christopher Salerno of Bradford served as the best man. Groomsmen were Jacob Shields of Erie, Blake MacDonald of Pittsburgh, Christopher Hoffman and Eric Chambers, both of Delaware, Ohio, John Sartori of Allegany, N.Y., Adam Stewart of Bradford and Kurt Toothman of Madison, Ohio.
Organist John Kearns provided music for the ceremony.
A reception was held at the Old Library in Olean, N.Y., with entertainment provided by DJ Xcite Sounds from Jamestown, N.Y.
The couple took a honeymoon trip to Jamaica.
They live in Delaware, Ohio.
A bridal shower was hosted by the mother of the groom, Amanda Stewart and Heather Watson at the Bradford Club, Bradford. A bachelorette party was in Nashville, Tenn.
The rehearsal dinner was hosted by the groom’s parents at Beefeaters’ Afterwords Club in Bradford.
The bride, a 2006 graduate of Panama (N.Y.) Central School, is currently attending Penn State University seeking a bachelor of science degree in business. She is a sales assistant for Luvata Ohio.
The groom is a 2005 graduate of Bradford Area High School and a 2009 graduate of Penn State-Behrend University, where he earned a bachelor of science degree in electrical and computer engineering technology. He is an automation consultant for Siemens Industry.
