    Bradford wrestling edges Coudersport

COUDERSPORT — The Bradford High wrestlers eked out a close result against Coudersport on Wednesday, defeating the Falcons 36-33 to improve to 2-1 on the season.

Owls coach Jamie Miller pointed to Dillon Keane’s pin of David Kudrick at 145 pounds as the pivotal moment in the match.

“The matchups made the difference,” Miller said. “No matter what I did with the lineup ahead of time, I knew it was going to come down to the last match between Dillon and Kudrick. They’re both outstanding wrestlers, and Dillon got the best of him.”
Keane improved to 13-0 in his matches for the year.

“Dillon Keane is on an absolute mission this year,” Miller said.

Bradford’s other victories came from Drake Hayden (pin), Tyler Thompson (forfeit), Colby Keane (forfeit), Jaron Ambrose (pin), Hunter Gray (forfeit), and Nate Gehm (decision).

“Jaron set the mood for us right from the get go,” Miller said. “I said I needed six (points) from him and we went out and got it.

“Derek Sunafrank’s match, even though the end result was a loss (by decision to Julian Smith), he wrestled really well,” Miller said. “It was a good, hard-fought match.

    “All the kids wrestled well.”

Coudersport got wins from Chris Davis (forfeit), Donovan Olney (pin), Julian Smith (decision), Isaac Wright (pin), Eli Ayers (pin), and Cale Ayers (forfeit).

Bradford’s JV team won 42-34. Lucas Laktash, Cassius Rissmiller, Dawson Smith, and Harrison Morrisroe all won by decision. Quinn Lasher, Robbie Schwind, Brett Thompson, and Gavin Dioguardi earned forfeits.

The JV team (3-0) will visit Port Allegany on Saturday

The varsity Owls will host Smethport on Tuesday.
