SHINGLEHOUSE — A Port Allegany woman is facing robbery charges after allegedly entering a Roulette Township home in July and assaulting an occupant there.
Kayla Causer, 20, of 63 Church St., is charged with robbery, a second-degree felony; simple assault, a second-degree misdemeanor; defiant trespassing, a third-degree misdemeanor; and harassment, a summary charge, court records stated.
According to court records, at 3:20 p.m. July 15, Causer and her boyfriend, Walker Smithmeyer, showed up at 17 Pine Lane, Roulette — the residence of Mia Snyder — to get some items, but Snyder asked her to leave.
Snyder told police she was shutting the door when Causer allegedly forced it open, entered and struck Snyder in the face. Smithmeyer threw Snyder to the ground, hit her right underarm and held her down while Causer searched the house, court records stated.
Snyder ran to a neighbor’s house.
Causer told police she entered the home while Snyder was trying to close the door, fought with Snyder and searched for clothes, court records stated.
Smithmeyer told police he drove Causer to the residence, started to wait in the truck, then went up to the house and broke up a fight between Snyder and Causer, according to court records.
Causer was arraigned Monday before District Judge Kari McCleaft and released on $10,000 unsecured bail. She is scheduled to appear for a preliminary hearing on Dec. 14.
