A Bradford man was arrested Tuesday night on allegations that he slapped a 5-year-old child.
Joshua C. Isaman, 33, of 2356 W. Washington St., is charged with simple assault, a first-degree misdemeanor; and harassment, a summary charge, court records stated.
According to court records, Kane-based state police were called at 5 p.m. Tuesday to Bradford Regional Medical Center for a report of a boy who was struck by his father the day before. Once on scene, police could see the boy had redness and swelling on the left side of his face.
In an interview with police, Isaman said his son was in bed about 6 p.m. Monday, but he wouldn’t go to sleep “and was being very difficult,” so he slapped the boy, court records stated. “I made a mistake,” he allegedly told police.
Isaman was arraigned before District Judge William Todd and committed to McKean County Jail in lieu of $10,000 bail. He is scheduled to appear in Central Court on Nov. 16.
