MOUNT JEWETT — Children of all ages dressed as ghost, ghouls, clowns and favorite characters walked Main Street in Mount Jewett Tuesday night in the Halloween parade.
The parade began at 5 p.m. at the Hamlin Bank and ended at the Mount Jewett Volunteer Fire Department where the Mount Jewett Rotary held a costume judging contest.
In the infant group, Treyce Anderson took first, Kruze Hamilton took second and Maya Hammaker took third out of nine entries.
In the preschool group, Lainey Housler took first, Kinley Hamilton took second and Lilly Dulski took third out of eight entries and in the kindergarten group, Zarek Faro took first.
In the first grade group, Konrad Yoder took first, Juliet Healy took second and Casey Wymer took third out of eight entries. For second graders, Kaci Allegretto took first, Kyleigh McGuire took second and Riley Housler took third out of three entries.
For the third grade group, Ana Healy took first, Kaylynn Hammaker took second and Dominic Slater took third out of six entries. For the fourth graders, Alexa Olmstead took first, April Mix took second and Linnea Peterson took third out of five entries. In the fifth grade group, Allenah McGuire took first.
Finally in the group competition group, Mackenzie Ginkel and Ayson Grisham took first for their Alice in Wonderland costumes, Kyleigh, Allenah and Makieya McGuire took second for their Grinch inspired costumes and Katelyn Myers and Isabella Raszman took third with their mermaid costumes.
All winners received a small cash prize and all participants received a candy bar as they left to trick-or-treat around Mount Jewett from 6 to 7 p.m.
