Autumn welcome: Message from the VP for HR

CCAC employees have started the 2017-18 school year with a great deal of vigor. We welcomed new employees at All College Day in August to a roar of excitement. New faculty, staff and administrators bring excitement and hope to join the creativity and experience of those who have been with the college throughout the years.

Our employees are being recognized for awards and achievements, pursuing professional development, furthering their formal education through degrees and certifications and serving the community in many valuable ways. We had the opportunity to shine the spotlight on the personal and professional achievements of our colleagues at All College Day, as well.

Speaking of achievements, CCAC has been recognized as a model of innovative thinking in higher education. At the recent College and University Professional Association for Human Resources, CUPA-HR, Annual Conference held in September in San Diego, CCAC was awarded the HR Innovation Award for the college’s Civility Program. This recognition demonstrates that CCAC is a best-practice institution amongst two-year and four-year institutions across our nation.

One of the most noteworthy components of our civility program is that it is an employee-driven initiative. Each campus has a team of civility ambassadors who work with leadership to support and coordinate civility initiatives. Kudos to the CCAC civility ambassadors.

CCAC employees give their best efforts and deserve to be supported. To that end, in order to enhance accessibility and customer service from the Human Resources Department, HR has begun establishing a consistent presence on the campuses. HR team members now serve scheduled office hours at an established HR office to better serve you.

I look forward to seeing you on your campus!
