In support of senior teammate Ashton McGriff, the Bradford High volleyball team will be collecting items to send to recovering or homeless veterans at tonight’s home game vs. Kane.
The “Totes of Hope” campaign is run through the Red Cross and aims to fill totes bags with items. McGriff plans on personally delivering the items to the VA hospital in Erie.
Items that can be donated (new only) include shaving cream, brand-name razors, after shave, shampoo, body wash, deodorant, combs, t-shirts (large, extra large), crossword puzzles, toothbrushes, toothpaste, floss, denture cleaning tablets, Kleenex boxes (large), women’s personal hygiene items, white socks, briefs (cotton-only) and decks of cards.
As well as at tonight’s game – the JV match begins at 6 p.m. with varsity to follow around 7:30 p.m. – McGriff will be collecting items until Oct. 6 at the following drop locations: Dexter’s Auto Service in Bradford, Hull Electric in Olean, N.Y., and the American Legion in Bradford.
