    Bradford man to serve jail term for strangulation

    SMETHPORT — A Bradford man accused of strangling a woman was sentenced Friday to a term in state prison.

    Uriah Schiappa, 32, of Bradford, will serve two to four years in state prison with credit for 153 days for a charge of strangulation. He pleaded guilty June 29 to allegations that on March 18, he choked a woman, causing her to gasp for air and feel like she could not breath.

    Also in court, Steve M. Parsons, 36, of Bradford, will serve 18 months to three years in state prison with credit for 153 days of time served and one year of probation for charges in two separate cases. He is charged in one case with simple assault and in the second case with theft by unlawful taking. On June 29, Parsons pleaded guilty to allegations that on Feb. 10, Parsons took a package from a porch that had been delivered from Amazon and contained a cat tower worth about $200; then, on March 17, he grabbed a woman by the arm, and she struck a microwave and ended up needing sutures in a laceration by her left eye.

    Jarred S. Gleason, 29, of Austin, will serve seven to 18 months in McKean County Jail for a charge of fleeing or attempting to elude an officer and summary charges. Gleason pleaded guilty July 13 to allegations that on Sept. 25, 2016, in Port Allegany, he failed to stop his vehicle for a police officer who was pursuing him and led the officer on a high-speed chase; during the chase, Gleason reached speeds of more than 100 mph in a 55 mph zone, passed other vehicles on the left in a no-passing zone and failed to yield the right-of-way to an emergency vehicle.

    Zachery T. Swanson-Davis, 21, of Hazel Hurst, will serve nine to 18 months in McKean County Jail with credit for one day of time served for a charge of receiving stolen property. On July 13, Davis pleaded guilty to allegations that on June 29, 2016, he possessed a 9 mm handgun valued at $100 that had been stolen from a vehicle.

    Brad H. Hitchings, 63, of Florence, S.C., will serve 15 days to 18 months in McKean County Jail with one day of credit for a charge of simple assault.

    Dylan J. Dinch, 19, of Smethport, will serve 15 days to one year in McKean County Jail and pay $2,774.63 in restitution for charges in two cases. He’s charged in one case with simple assault and in the second case with possession of drug paraphernalia and a summary charge.

    Jordan M. Woolley, 29, of Shinglehouse, will serve 10 days to two years in McKean County Jail for a charge of driving under the influence of alcohol and summary charges.

    Kenna P. Shirey, 45, of Bradford, will serve five days to six months in McKean County Jail for a charges of driving under the influence of alcohol.

    Adam S. McLeod, 23, of Duke Center, will serve one year in the Intermediate Punishment Program for charge of driving under the influence of alcohol and summary charges in two separate cases.

    Daniel A. Gillespie, 30, of James City, will serve six months in the Intermediate Punishment Program for charges of driving under the influence of alcohol and summary charges.

    Thomas L. Ditcher, 54, of Great Valley, N.Y., will serve six months of probation for a charge of driving under the influence of a controlled substance and summary charges.

    Jamie K.A. Defilippo, 25, of Bradford, will serve one year of probation for a charge of possession of drug paraphernalia and a summary charge.

    Eric D. Carlson, 43, of East Smethport, will serve one year of probation for a charge of possession of drug paraphernalia.

    Brent T. Hollamby, 21, of Portville, N.Y., will serve nine months of probation for charges of possession of a small amount of marijuana for personal use and possession of drug paraphernalia.

    Joseph D. Reap, 23, of Bradford, will serve nine months of probation for a charge of possession of drug paraphernalia.

    Jessie S. Jones, 35, of Bradford, will serve 18 months of probation for a charge of retail theft.

    Earl A. Knight Jr., 19, of Bradford, will serve nine months of probation for a charge of retail theft.

    Todd A. Frontino, 50, of Smethport, will serve six month of probation for a charge of harassment.
