The aroma of freshly baked doughnuts soon will fill the streets of downtown Bradford.
Plans are in motion for a made-to-order doughnut shop to occupy 89 Main St., formerly Gam Gam’s Diner, announced Greg Ross, a Bradford native who co-owns Goldenwest Group LLC of Las Vegas.
“I have met with the group of investors who have been on a trip across the United States visiting donut shops in various cities that specialize in homemade fresh and hot donuts made every 90 seconds –– no more day old and stale donuts,” he said. “There is no better scent in the morning than the fresh smell of hot donuts, a great cup of coffee and maybe a little bacon on the donut.”
Ross said that the location will have a bright, clean appearance.
“The group plans on designing the store around the simple concept that your hot donut is ready for you to design –– pick your donut, pick your toppings and it is ready to enjoy in under two minutes,” he said. “In addition to the design-your-own donuts, the store will offer basic donuts with only one difference –– they will always be fresh, hot and ready to enjoy.”
Ross also provided an update on another property he owns in Foster Township.
The former Domino’s Pizza building at 30 Bolivar Drive has undergone extensive interior renovations to become the home of Howard Hanna Professionals, the third largest real-estate company in Pennsylvania.
“The interior is just beautiful and has a state-of-the art conference center. This is a great professionally designed interior,” Ross said.
Earlier this year, Domino’s Pizza moved from Foster Township to 15 Main St.
Also in downtown Bradford, Ross announced that the Downbeat Restaurant at 27 Main St. has a fresh face –– chef and restaurant owner Chef Patrick Michael.
“Chef Michael’s family has been in the restaurant business in Bradford for decades starting back with owning Dante’s in the mall,” he said. “Chef Michaels’ Downbeat Restaurant will focus on Italian food just like the old Downbeat.”
Ross has his eye on other potential projects in the Bradford area. He said he is working with broker Michael DePpalma from Howard Hanna Professionals on various property acquisitions on Main Street and in Foster Brook.
