The memory of Jim “J.E.” O’Mara will live on.
An $10,000 endowment fund has been established by Dr. Kimberly Young O’Mara in memory of her late husband in an effort to support the St. Bernard Parish and to help Catholics.
O’Mara was a member of the Catholic Foundation Board of Directors from 2011 until his death earlier this year at the age of 74. The foundation is in service to every parish and ministry in the Diocese of Erie, supporting religious, education, social and pastoral ministries by connecting donors to the needs of the communities and the people.
“I can tell you first hand that Jim was very proud of his involvement in this board. He was an active participant, donor and advocate for the mission of the foundation,” said Lisa R. Louis, executive director of the Catholic Foundation and Diocesan Development Services of the Diocese of Erie.
