The annual Eagles for Autism Dice Run went off without a hitch on Saturday, being one of the most successful runs to date, officials report.
The Eagles Riders Club kicked off the event early in the morning with a parade leading into the 100-mile long ride.
“This year has been the best event we’ve had,” said Kyle Brandt, a member of the Eagles Riders Club and organizer of the Autism Dice Run.
The 100-mile ride began in Bradford and ran through Kane, Ridgway, St. Marys and then ultimately ended where it started –– in Bradford.
“The weather was wonderful and gave us no issues with the parade or the ride. Everyone worked so hard to make it a run to remember and I couldn’t be more thankful,” he said.
After the ride were the cash activities, which included the Chinese auction, the 50/50 contest, and the cash bar.
“The cash events were extremely successful this year, and helped us towards of goal of raising awareness for autism,” Brandt said.
The amount of donations received in total won’t be available until Thursday, but Brandt said that he thinks that this year’s may have accumulated more donations than the previous years.
“We won’t know for sure until Thursday, but we had a better turnout this year than last year. We are so grateful, and I’m sure the local families to whom the money will go to are even more grateful,” Brandt said.
