“Wonder Woman” premiered on Friday, and the YWCA Bradford welcomed the occasion by bringing in a Wonder Woman of its own.
Cindy Pascarella of Bradford was in front of the Main Street Movie House doing a meet and greet for anyone in attendance of the feature film.
“It’s a community campaign organized by the YWCA and Hennard Construction,” she said. “They asked me to do it, and I was more than excited to be able to help.”
Tomi Dolan, a spokeswoman for Hennard Construction, said she thought it would be a lot of fun for the community to do the meet and greet campaign.
“The ‘Wonder Woman’ premiere was a perfect occasion to make a campaign that promotes strong women,” she said.
Pascarella, who was in full “Wonder Woman” attire, said she and her husband have always been big superhero fans.
“When they asked me to do this, I didn’t hesitate,” she said. “It’s so empowering as a woman to have a lead superhero represent the strength that women are capable of.”
In attendance was Pascarella’s granddaughter, Aria Smith, 4, of Pittsburgh. She was eager to snap a picture with Pascarella, striking a super pose just like her grandmother.
“I’m going to be strong like my grandma,” she said.
Pascarella is no stranger to dressing up as famous heroes. Back in August of 2016, during the premiere of the superhero film “Suicide Squad,” Pascarella hosted a meet and greet while dressed as the titular character Harley Quinn.
“Wonder Woman” is currently available for viewing at the Main Street Movie House. Tickets can be purchased at the theater or at www.bradfordcinema.com/
