PORT ALLEGANY — Five students were recently inducted into the National Technical Honor Society within the Seneca Highlands Career and Technical Center, located in Port Allegany. The purpose of the NTHS is to honor student achievement and leadership in career and technical education,as well as promote educational excellence.
New inductees are Brandon Hostetlar, Austin Area High School, building construction; Alex Benson, Otto-Eldred High School, building construction; Rylee Hooftallen, Austin Area High School, networking; Marhea Unverdorben, Otto Eldred High School, health assistants; and Jay Gehman, Northern Potter High School, heavy equipment.
The inductees joined returning members for a ceremony held at the SHCTC.
Port Allegany Mayor George Riley was the guest speaker. Returning members read the attributes of NTHS members, and the inductees received their pins, certificates of membership and Honor cards. The membership pledge was recited before the close of the ceremony.
