The Fraternal Order of Eagles Aerie #2432 and its Ladies Auxiliary #2432 announced the winners of the 2017 essay contest at an awards reception Monday at the Eagles Club.
Kamryn Piscitelli and Zena Smith each received $1,000 scholarships for writing winning essays on the theme “People Helping People,” which is the motto of the Fraternal Order of Eagles.
Kamryn is the daughter of Brian and Alyson Piscitelli of Bradford. She will attend the University of Pittsburgh at Bradford and major in pre-physical therapy. She plans a career in physical therapy and will play volleyball at Bradford. A volleyball player for four years at Bradford Area High School, she lettered three years and was named to the District All-Star team. She is a member of the National Technical Honor Society, having received honors and high honors during her four years at BAHS.
Zena is the daughter of Tom and Ella Smith of Bradford. She will attend Point Park University and will major in photography and journalism. She plans a career utilizing both majors. She played softball for BAHS for three years and is a member of the National Honor Society, having been selected for three years. She participated in the school play.
