EMPORIUM — A memorial concert in honor of Gladys Schultz will be held at 3 p.m. May 21 at the Emmanuel Episcopal Church, 4th Street, Emporium.
The concert is a celebration of Schultz’s many years as a musician in Elk and Cameron counties.
She was the organist and pianist at the church for more than 70 years. She accompanied the Singing Dutchmen for more than 40 years and played the keyboard for Mountain Melodies and for many other community events.
A scholarship has been established in memory of Schultz. Contributions can be made after the concert or mailed to Tom Farley at 248 South Paul Rd., St. Marys, PA 15857.
The Singing Dutchmen and Mountain Melodies will present music she performed with their groups, and poetry written by Schultz will be read. The Emmanuel Episcopal Choir will perform one of her favorite anthems. There will be congregational singing as well as solos.
A reception will follow the concert in Emmanuel’s parish hall. All are welcome to attend and join in the celebration.
