PORT ALLEGANY — A program on landowners and what to expect with expanding rights-of-way relating to gas pipelines has been set for 7 to 8:30 p.m. May 17 at the Port Allegany Elementary School.
The North Central Forest Landowners Association, in cooperation with Penn State Extension, is hosting the program to discuss local concerns with expanding utility rights-of-way into the area.
All landowners, and especially forest landowners, should know what to consider when negotiating with utility companies and what impacts to expect on their property as a result of the right-of way.
The program will begin with an overview, provided by Kimberly Bohn from Penn State Extension, on the key points that should be negotiated during right-of way agreements. The second speaker, Ken Kane from Generations Forestry, will then discuss his recent local experiences about the good (and not so good) aspects that landowners have faced when dealing with this issue. Following the presentations, there will be an opportunity for open dialog about any remaining concerns landowners may have.
