ST. MARYS –– Mitch Forbes, Brent Kennedy and Alex Barton all won matches as Bradford High topped St. Marys, 5-2, Monday afternoon for the team’s first win of the season.

Forbes, in the No. 1 singles spot, beat Adam Snyder, 6-4, 6-0, while Kennedy took down Cody Schaberl, 6-3, 6-0. Alex Barton topped Mike Rusciolelli, 6-3, 7-5 in the last singles match, while Forbes and Kennedy teamed up for an 8-0 No. 1 doubles win.

“We did a complete turnaround from the last match at Brockway,” BHS head coach Mike Sherman said. “We had a good practice (Sunday) and I had a feeling something good would happen today and it did.”

The Owls (1-1) travel to Clearfield today for the team’s second of four matches in a row.

“We just have to go down to Clearfield and play hard,” Sherman said.
