JOHNSONBURG – After amassing a 38-4 record, Coudersport senior wrestler Gage Arnold was honored as Allegheny Mountain Wrestling League Wrestler of the Year, the league announced Wednesday.
Arnold (160 pounds) was joined on the team by his coach John Bishel and teammates Trevor Olney (120), David Kudrick (138), Eli Ayers (195) and Corey Thompson (220). Those five AMWL all-stars gave Coudersport the most of any school.
Bradford High had a pair underclassmen all-stars in junior Tyler Thompson at 132 pounds (34-9) and sophomore Dillon Keane at 145 pounds (25-3).
The rest of the all-star lineup included Reese Vollmer (Port Allegany), Dylan Pesock (Oswayo Valley), Treyton Stiles (Port Allegany), Aiden Hulings (Kane), Jacob Kallenborn (Port Allegany), Akete Kindle (Smethport) and Nick Knowles (Sheffield).
There were also several at large selections, including Isaac Wright (Coudersport), Devon Norlin (Johnsonburg), Grant West (Oswayo Valley), Noah Blankenship (Kane), and Alec English (Kane).
