The Pennsylvania Bankers Association has appointed Stacy Sorokes Wallace, Esq., trust officer at Hamlin Bank and Trust Co. of Smethport, to serve as a member of the Pennsylvania Bankers Association’s Trust Advisory Committee.
As part of the Government Relations Council of the association, the advisory committee will review and recommend legislation in respective areas, on behalf of member banks, to the Government Relations Policy Committee.
Wallace will serve a two-year term ending December of 2018. She joined Hamlin Bank and Trust Co. in January of 2016 after practicing law in McKean and surrounding counties. As trust officer, Wallace directs and carries out investment needs and goals of trust accounts; administers trusts and estates; and supervises the trust department.
The Pennsylvania Bankers Association selected Wallace for the Government Relations Policy committee because of her background in law and local/state politics as well as her past experience as an elected delegate to the Pennsylvania House of Delegates. The Pennsylvania House of Delegates is the body charged with setting policy for the Pennsylvania Bar Association. Wallace currently is a member of the Trusts and Estates section of the Pennsylvania Bar Association which is reviewing proposed legislation in conjunction with the Bankers Association’s Government Relations Council.
The Pennsylvania Bankers Association, located in Harrisburg, is the Commonwealth’s leading banking trade association representing an expansive and diverse membership. The association offers extensive continuing education programs, government relations representation on behalf of the industry and provides numerous products and services for banks and their employees.
Wallace lives in Bradford with her husband, Curt, and their two children, Lucas and Cora, ages 7 and 5.
