KANE — Tyler R. Hannah has announced his candidacy for magisterial district judge in Kane.
A native and resident of the Kane area, Hannah is a licensed attorney and associate at the law firm of Woods Baker & Ross.
Hannah graduated with his law degree in 2009. The same year he obtained employment with the Court of Common Pleas for McKean County in Smethport and served as a law clerk for four years to both President Judge John H. Pavlock and Judge Christopher G. Hauser. Hannah then entered private practice in 2014. Hannah represents clients in transactional matters as well as before the Court of Common Pleas.
He also serves as solicitor for Hamlin and Wetmore townships, the McKean County Prothonotary’s Office and the McKean County Controller’s Office.
Hannah said his experience in the public legal system, as well as serving private sector clients, makes him uniquely qualified with a broad depth of experience and knowledge to successfully serve as magisterial district judge.
“I have great respect for our legal system and value the boundaries and structure of the law. My career has been dedicated to serving the community in both public and private capacities, and I truly welcome the opportunity to serve,” said Hannah.
Outside of his professional background, Hannah has been an active volunteer and community advocate. He currently serves as president-elect of the Kane Rotary Club, and is on the board of directors for various organizations, including CARE for Children, The Lutheran Home at Kane, Kane High School Alumni Memorial Award, Kane Historic Preservation Society, and the Friendship Table in Bradford.
Hannah is currently the secretary of the McKean County Historical Society and immediate past secretary of the McKean County Bar Association. Hannah is an active member of the Kane Elks Lodge, Wilcox Sportsman’s Club, Kane Fish and Game Club and a social member of the Kane VFW.
A lifelong resident of Wetmore Township, Hannah is the son of Robert D. and Katherine A. Hannah.
“Our citizens deserve a judge that is invested in the community, both professionally and personally,” Hannah said. “I pledge to serve the public and justice system by wholeheartedly committing my attention, efforts and knowledge to the office. Above all, I will uphold the laws of the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania in a fair, straightforward and respectful manner.”
Hannah will file petitions for both the Republican and Democratic nominations for the May 16 primary election.
