DUKE CENTER — Otto-Eldred’s Camryn Thomas recorded a double-double and the Lady Terrors upset the North Tier League’s No. 2 team with a 40-33 decision over Northern Potter on Friday.
Thomas scored a game-high 14 points and pulled down 13 rebounds.
NoPo came into the game with just two league losses, both at the hands of Coudersport.
“It was a dogfight,” said Barb Close, O-E coach.
The game was deadlocked 12-12 at the end of the first quarter before the Lady Terrors pulled ahead by one, 18-17, at halftime. O-E pushed its advantage to six (31-25) at the end of three went on to win by seven.
“We’ve had to overcome a lot of adversity because of injuries,” Close continued. “We have cancelled the remainder of our JV schedule and are hoping to get some kids back. Our bench has been helping, but now we just want to finish strong in the NTL and are looking to make a run in the playoffs.”
Also in double figures for the Lady Terrors was Haylee Frederick with 10 points, while Emily Smith pulled down eight rebounds and Tiffany Bair six.
Leading Northern Potter was Kalie Cowburn with 15 points.
Otto-Eldred (9-4 NTL, 12-7 overall) travels to Oswayo Valley next Thursday.

EMPORIUM – Coudersport used a 20 point night from Haley Keck to secure the win. Macy Gleason also contributed 11 points for the Lady Falcons. Pacing the scoring for Cameron County was Madi Guisto with 16 points as well as four steals.
The loss pushes Cameron County’s record to (7-10, 5-6 NTL).
“Chris Fink is an outstanding coach. Coudersport has some outstanding players,” Cameron County coach Dave Sullivan said. “We left everything out on the floor tonight. I’m very pleased with the effort from my girls.”

SHINGLEHOUSE – Cailey Barnett tallied 25 points while Autumn Buchsenschutz added 16 points to lead Port Allegany (8-9, 4-7) to victory.
For Oswayo Valley, the loss drops their record to (6-11, 2-10).
“They played with an intensity we just didn’t match,” OV coach Kelly Rice said. “I was impressed with how we guarded [Autumn] Buchsenschutz. I think she finished a few points off her average.”
The Lady Gators host Cameron County on Tuesday, while the Green Wave visit Northern Potter on Tuesday.

Smethport improves to 9-9 overall and 5-8 in league play, with its next game coming at home against Galeton on Tuesday. Austin (0-18, 0-13) visits Coudersport on Tuesday.
