In January, UR Medicine Thompson Health launched Wellness Hub, an all-inclusive program offering both men and women the opportunity to attend a number of health-related events combining education with entertainment.
Wellness Hub replaces the Spirit of Women program, and keeps with Thompson’s mission to continuously improve the health of residents in the Finger Lakes.
“This is one more way Thompson encourages a healthy lifestyle by providing fun ways to empower yourself when it comes to your health,” says Thompson Health Wellness Hub Coordinator Misty Ufholz.
The program’s creation was announced last October at Thompson’s Harvest of Health event. The program, geared toward a female audience and held at Finger Lakes Community College, featured dinner and speakers who touched upon the topics in which women had told Thompson they were most interested: better sleep, better digestion and better ways to handles stress. In addition, a national speaker delivered a presentation titled “Courageous Conversations on Humor, Health & Happiness.”
“From the displays highlighting all that Thompson offers, to the high-quality speakers and the fantastic fall menu, everything was top-notch,” commented one of the nearly 150 women who attended.
While anyone will be welcome to attend similar events in the future, Wellness Hub does have a membership program offering exclusive benefits. Signing up is free.
Members receive advance notice of and discounts to upcoming events, access to the program’s digital health and wellness magazine, online articles on health topics, healthy recipes, health promotions and more.
In addition, those who sign up can enroll in a free online rewards program providing discounts on hundreds of services and products from local and national vendors.
“This discount program means you can save on health-related services including gym memberships, fitness equipment and weight management programs, as well as everyday purchases and dining out,” Ufholz says.
