OLEAN, N.Y. — Two Bradford, Pa., men were arrested in Cattaraugus County on allegations they possessed a large amount of marijuana.
Olean-based state police said at 1:40 p.m. Saturday, a vehicle driven by Robert Stuckey, 50, of Bradford, was stopped by troopers on Interstate 86 in the Town of Hinsdale for a traffic violation. Police could smell marijuana while talking to Stuckey, and a state police K-9 was brought in to search the vehicle.
Police determined that Stuckey and Robert Gamet Jr., 37, possessed 5.5 pounds of marijuana, and the pair was taken into custody.
An online conversion website indicated that 5.5 pounds of marijuana is equal to 2,494.76 grams of marijuana.
Stuckey and Gamet were arraigned in the Town of Hinsdale Court on criminal charges and committed to Cattaraugus County Jail in Little Valley in lieu of $10,000 bail.
