HERSHEY — Sophomore Vinnie Bizzarro placed 143rd in a time of 18:24 to lead Bradford High at the PIAA Class AA cross country meet Saturday.
Junior Cade Hayden was 155th in 18:31, freshman Andrew Kraft 169th in 18:41 and Logan Caruso 225th in 20:45.
“Vinnie has run well all year but developed a breathing problem that we haven’t been able to get under control,” BAHS coach Tom Tessena said. “The last month of the season has been tough for him.
“Cade Hayden has been a steady performer all year. He ran pretty well today and had a great season this year. Cade was one of our leaders all year and placed fifth at districts.
“Freshman Andrew Kraft had a super year for a first-timer as a freshman. This meet is overwhelming for a freshman and he had a respectable showing. He finished seventh at districts and ran every meet in our top four. That is a strong showing.
“Logan had a tough year with surgery and then developed a problem with his hip. He should have dropped out of the meet today but he has too much pride to not finish what he started.”
The individual winner was Ben Baumgarner of Waynesburg Central in a time of 16:01. Team honors went to Dallas who scored 96 points.
Tessena and the team wishes to thank the booster club, athletic director Dave Fuhrman and the school district for their support.
The booster club will be hosting a banquet for team members and their families at Togi’s Restaurant at 6 p.m. Nov. 15. The dinner is free for team members. There will be a charge for others.
