LITTLE VALLEY, N.Y. — A Lewis Run, Pa., woman has been charged in Cattaraugus County with fraudulently receiving food stamps and Medicaid, and with applying for New York benefits while she lived in Pennsylvania.
Charity L. Marks, 42, of 6753 Route 59 Lot B2, is charged with welfare fraud 3rd degree and grand larceny 3rd degree, both Class D felonies; and offering a false instrument for filing, a Class E felony.
She was arraigned in Olean City Court and released on her own recognizance. Her next appearance is Nov. 23.
She is accused of fraudulently receiving $2,774 in SNAP benefits and $4,255.86 in Medicaid benefits from September of 2015 to April of 2016.
Marks is also accused of applying for benefits in New York for herself and her family, while she lived in Pennsylvania.
