ST. MARYS (EC) — A St. Marys woman has been charged as a codefendant in several burglaries throughout the St. Marys area.
Briana Nicole Huber, 29, is facing charges in two separate cases.
In the first case, Huber is accused of participating in a burglary along Rosely Road in St. Marys.
According to the affidavit of probable cause, filed in the office of District Judge Mark Jacob, Huber conspired with Kayla Gillen to break into the home of Gillen’s grandparents while they were attending a wedding in North Carolina.
During this incident, a partial brick was thrown through a window to allow access to the residence, and $8 was removed from inside the home. For this incident, Huber was charged with two felony charges of burglary – overnight accommodation with no person present and two misdemeanor charges of theft by unlawful taking.
She was arraigned before Jacob on Tuesday, and bail was set at $10,000 monetary. She will appear before Jacob on Nov. 15 at 2:30 p.m. for a preliminary hearing.
In the second case, Huber is accused of turning stolen coins in to the CNB Bank location on Washington Street in St. Marys.
According to court records, Huber was seen on CNB Bank’s surveillance footage with jars of nickels that were reported stolen by a homeowner along Washington Street.
Austin Wolfel and Allen Weyant were previously charged with stealing the coins during one of several burglaries that the pair allegedly committed throughout the city. According to the affidavit, Huber received $274.75 from the coins deposited.
As a result of this incident, Huber has been charged with two misdemeanor counts of receiving stolen property.
She was arraigned before Jacob on Wednesday, and bail was set at $1,000 monetary.
She is scheduled to appear before Jacob on Nov. 29 at 2 p.m. for a preliminary hearing.
Online court documents show that Huber is currently confined in the Elk County Prison in lieu of bail.
