ST. MARYS — The Community and Education Center of Elk and Cameron Counties in St. Marys and University of Pittsburgh at Bradford are inviting area employers to discover an untapped pool of local interns by attending an internship information event at 4 p.m. Nov. 1 at the Center in St. Marys.
Organizers said employers will learn about the process for applying for Pitt-Bradford interns, the degrees and programs from which interns may be available, and hear from a successful former intern.
“There are hundreds of Pitt-Bradford students who grew up within less than an hour’s drive of Elk and Cameron counties, and a local internship could lead to longer-term commitments and more young adults staying in the region,” said Kate Brock, executive director of the Community and Education Center.
Pitt-Bradford already places hundreds of students in internships in or around Bradford and are looking to expand the companies and industries within which they partner.
Employers interested in attending can RSVP to the event by calling the Community and Education Center at 814-781-3437 or by emailing cec@communityedcenter.com.
