North Central seminar to help applicants with WEDnetPA program

RIDGWAY — The North Central Pennsylvania Regional Planning and Development Commission will host a WEDnetPA informational seminar to assist manufacturing employers in the completion of the WEDnetPA online application.

The event will be held from 9 a.m. to noon July 19 at North Central, 49 Ridgmont Drive, Ridgway. The program offers training and funding for training of manufacturing employees.

WEDnetPA staff will walk participants through the ins and outs of eligibility criteria, program guidelines and the application steps. There will also be time for individual technical assistance, and applications can be submitted prior to leaving the office. North Central will also offer tips to assist those new to the program or experienced users.

Funded by the Pennsylvania Department of Community and Economic Development First Line Item, the WEDnetPA program reimburses employers for training they conduct with their current employees. This type of incumbent worker training program helps employers in the region stay competitive and productive. Since its inception in 1999, WEDnetPA has assisted more than 17,000 companies and helped train more than 1 million workers.

The WEDnetPA program was created to empower Pennsylvania companies by developing employee skills.
